Ruby Judaica – A Story of Heritage, Tradition and Love of Israel
The story of Ruby Judaica is woven into a love of the Land of Israel, Jewish tradition and a family legacy passed from one generation to the next.
Our Family Heritage: From Zionism in Persia to the Heart of Netanya
It all began when my parents, Gideon and Miriam, chose to leave their lives in Iran before the revolution and make aliyah to Israel, driven by a deep Zionist commitment and the desire to build a home and a life in the land of their ancestors.
After settling in Netanya, they fulfilled a dream and opened their first Judaica shop by the city’s landmark Independence Square, at 3 Herzl Street.
They named the shop Ruby Judaica after my beloved grandfather, Ruby, of blessed memory – a tribute to our family roots, the values of generosity and the rich heritage on which we were raised.
The Next Generation – The Same Soul, Renewed Momentum
Over the years, the shop at 3 Herzl Street became a familiar Netanya destination for local residents, guests and visitors from around the world seeking sacred objects, distinctive gifts and the warmth of a family shop.
Today, the family legacy continues with strength. The business is proudly led by my older brother, Ruby, who was named after our beloved grandfather. Ruby carries forward our parents’ path with dedication and love, preserving the family spirit and personal attention while continuing to develop and expand the business.
Alongside the flagship shop by Independence Square, the branch at 11 Smilansky Street in Netanya is also known as Hadar Judaica. It is part of Ruby Judaica and is managed by my younger brother, Netanel. The branch offers a welcoming shopping experience and a broad selection of ritual objects, Judaica and Jewish art.
